You're booked — here's everything you need to know before your class at Deco Leather Studio in Miami Beach. If anything isn't covered here, email info@decoleatherstudio.com or text +1 (305) 699-2830, 9 am–6 pm daily.
Your class
Do I need to sign anything?
Yes. Every participant completes a short participant waiver before starting at the bench. The link is in your confirmation email and it takes about three minutes. It asks for your date of birth, an emergency contact, and any allergies or medical conditions I should know about.
What should I wear?
Wear something you don't mind marking — leather dyes and adhesives can permanently stain fabric. Fitted clothing works best at the bench, and closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just government-issued photo ID. Everything else is provided: leather, hardware, all hand tools, safety equipment, and refreshments.
Is there anything to pay at the studio?
No. Your class is paid in full, including Florida sales tax, when you book.

Where is the studio?
Deco Leather Studio is a private leatherworking studio located inside a residence in the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida — not a commercial storefront. It's a dedicated workspace with a heavy-duty workbench, custom tool racks, and professional leather equipment, set up for one student at a time. The exact address and arrival instructions are sent once your class is paid for.
What should I expect when I arrive?
You'll be met at the door and shown straight to the bench. The studio is a dedicated workspace with a single work station set up for your class. Before starting, I'll confirm your waiver, run through the tools you'll be using and the safety basics, then we talk through your design. From there it's hands-on for the rest of the class. Water and refreshments are available throughout.
Is parking available?
Yes — one assigned private space is available on site. If you need extended parking, a temporary South Beach residential guest permit can be arranged through the City of Miami Beach for up to 24 hours. I'd need your vehicle's license plate number before you arrive, which I submit to the city to register the permit.
Health
I have an allergy. Can you accommodate it?
Note it on your participant waiver and I'll do what I reasonably can. Be aware that all classes involve leather dust, vegetable-tanned hides, dyes, adhesives, and finishing compounds, and I cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Changes
Can I reschedule?
Yes — up to 24 hours before your start time, by emailing info@decoleatherstudio.com or replying to your confirmation. Rescheduling is limited to one change per booking, the new class must fall within 90 days of your original date, and your payment carries over.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel 48 hours or more before your start time for a full refund or studio credit valid for 12 months. Within 48 hours, and for no-shows, the class isn't refundable — bench time is reserved exclusively for you and materials are prepared in advance.
If you rescheduled, refund eligibility is calculated from your originally booked class time, not the new date.
I booked last minute and something came up.
If you booked less than 48 hours before your class, you can cancel within one hour of paying for a full refund — email info@decoleatherstudio.com. After that hour, the class isn't refundable.
Can I send someone else in my place?
Yes, at no charge, up to 24 hours before the class. Email info@decoleatherstudio.com with their full name and email address. The substitute participant must be 18 or older and complete the participant waiver before arriving.
What if I'm running late?
Classes begin at the scheduled time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late the class still runs, but it will be shorter and full tuition applies. Arrivals more than 30 minutes late are treated as no-shows.
What if you have to cancel?
If Deco Leather Studio cancels for any reason — severe weather, instructor illness, equipment failure — you choose between a full refund of everything you've paid or priority rescheduling into any open time at no additional cost.
